Sun June 28
It’s Vic & Joy’s wedding day! We are all up early and everyone is excited. Vic is a little nervous, but we know he will do just fine. What an absolutely gorgeous day for a wedding . . . the sun is shining bright (again), the skies are blue and it feels warmer today. The girls pile into our RV and we start a motorcade to Kincaid Park where the wedding is taking place in their Chalet at 2 pm. The park is heavily wooded and just beautiful. There are lots of people walking and hiking the trails here. As we pull up to the Chalet, there is an expansive grassy area that goes down to the ocean and off in the distance is Mt. Susitna, a.k.a. the Sleeping Lady.
Rick performed a beautiful ceremony under the gazebo looking out to the ocean. There were about 80 people in attendance. Vic & Joy looked so happy . . . and Joy was stunning in a beautiful dress and her always beautiful smile. The ceremony lasted about 20 minutes and then everyone went inside the Chalet for the luncheon. The DJ played romantic music while we ate, and then they performed all the traditional wedding rituals.
Everyone had a wonderful time . . . it was a beautiful wedding. Vic & Joy make such a wonderful couple . . . you can see how happy they are and along with Megan, Courtney & Dalton they make a beautiful family.
We will be leaving Anchorage in the morning for Seward. The next week will be spent in the RV visiting the southern towns of Seward, Homer and Cooper Landing. These areas are much more remote than Anchorage so we are not sure if we will find an internet connection to allow us to keep blogging. We hope to stay in touch, but if not we'll post again on Saturday (July 4) when we return to Anchorage. Talk to you soon. We're off into the wild . . .
Temp: 76 degrees
Wildlife Sightings: 0 :(

Great scenery! Looks like the wedding was fun, eh? Grace, did you have those little blocks on your feet when you were riding that bike? I think it's funny that everyone has a sea plane in front of their house instead of pontoon boats. Imagine taking the plane up to the store for a 12 of Heinie's and some moose jerkey! Geeeez.
ReplyDeleteGrace, you did a wonderful job of blogging our beautiful day! Thank you! Hope you don't see any bears up close and personal this week...
ReplyDeleteLuv,
Joy and Vic
The pictures are amazing and you still have so much to see! Seems silly to ask if you're having a great time. Thanks for sharing. Enjoy!! Joe V.
